Sub-Programme 3(d): Support for Livelihood Security – Hazard Awareness

Component 3d (Livelihood Security – Hazard Awareness) tightens CDMP focus on community welfare with interventions to reduce the effects of hazards on livelihoods, using a methodology consistent with CDMP’s Community Risk Assessment (CRA). Its main purpose is to inculcate hazard awareness at the household level, which is the primary unit in the context of livelihood security. The awareness will be built consistently with the comprehensive approach advocated by CDMP to manage multiple hazards occurring in Bangladesh. Increased awareness of hazards and better availability of risk management information will help vulnerable people to minimize losses due to hazards and also to plan various mitigation and rehabilitation measures.
